The General Council on Finance and Administration works with organizations that provide vital services The United Methodist Church, whether it is directly to local churches or to large Foundations serving as stewards of denominational resources.

For almost two decades, UMC Foundation Investment Management (FIM) has been headed by leaders of the denomination who understand the United Methodist connection and whose goal it is to assure the investments of the ministries of the Church are able to help them fulfill their mission. Providing personalized investment strategies to help their partners reach their goals faster and more efficiently than ever before.  FIM remains committed to the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ through supporting organizations that help start, renew, and increase UMC congregations across the globe, building congregations for generations to come.

United Methodist Insurance (UMI) is a non-profit, captive insurance company started by the General Council on Finance and Administration of The United Methodist Church (GCFA). The ministry of United Methodist Insurance is to protect the people and property of The United Methodist Church. It accomplishes this ministry by assisting in a financially responsible way while providing access to the broadest coverage available.

The Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure (PAUMCS) provides administrative professionals a supportive base to promote individual growth, professional development, continuing education and spiritual enrichment. PAUMCS offers certification programs to administrative professionals who provide critical support throughout the denomination and are a vital link for the connection.

The Academy of Church Business Administration (ACBA), hosted by the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA), is held in Nashville, TN each year in June. Formerly called the National Institute on Church Finance and Administration, the ACBA delivers the high-quality education and certification program that church business administrators have come to expect.

The National Association of Commissions on Equitable Compensation (NACEC), affiliated with the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA), serves, guides, and supports the work of Commissions on Equitable Compensation in each annual conference of The United Methodist Church. Each quadrennium the NACEC revises and produces the "Guidelines: A Manual for Conference Commissions," and sponsors a national training event for commission members, district superintendents, and conference treasurers. In concert with GCFA, the Association also provides bi-annual regional training workshops for new commission members.

The General Conference is the top policy-making body of The United Methodist Church, consisting of voting delegates from regional conferences around the world. The assembly normally meets once every four years to consider revisions to church law, as well as to adopt resolutions on current moral, social, public policy and economic issues.
