Sharon Dean is the Chief Officer of Communications and Marketing at the General Council on Finance and Administration of The United Methodist Church. In this role, she oversees all official communication for the agency, as well as acts as the official spokesperson. Sharon leads a team of four who work on the branding of the agency and on marketing campaigns for all services and products offered by GCFA. Since 2007 at GCFA, Sharon has been highly successful in communicating the agency’s vision of supporting ministries throughout the United Methodist connection.
Prior to her work at GCFA, Sharon was employed at Southwestern Company for more than three decades and served as a Manager of Marketing Support. There she was instrumental in the production of sales training material, communications, and meeting planning.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University.
