Board Searches for New President After Resignation of Steve Hundley
President of United Methodist Insurance Resigns; Board Begins Search for New Leadership
Nashville, TN – The Board of Directors of United Methodist Insurance (UMI) has accepted the resignation of Steve Hundley, who served as President/CEO. Hundley’s resignation is effective immediately. Mike Plesko, Chief Operating Officer, will serve as the interim President/CEO.
The Board thanked Steve Hundley for his commitment to providing excellent insurance coverage and superior service to the Church through UMI. Normal operations for UMI will continue as the Board seeks a permanent replacement. David Hughes, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UMI said, “It is our desire to conduct a thorough search for President that exemplifies a commitment to serve the Church through the products offered by United Methodist Insurance. Our first priority is to support and protect United Methodist properties, and the successful leader will share that vision throughout the connection.”
UMI continues to grow in its service to United Methodist churches. UMI is now covering over 3,000 United Methodist churches in the United States – a 42% increase over 2015.
