Individual conference reports provide summary information on membership and attendance changes, spending per member, local population change, and apportionment remittances with comparisons to jurisdiction and US.
Survey Research
U.S. Congregational Life Survey
The Office of Analysis & Research recruited 185 congregations to take part in a national survey of worshippers during a Sunday worship service – April 26 or May 3. Attendees had an opportunity to share information on their faith perspective, church participation, and demographic background. The survey was conducted in partnership with U.S. Congregations, a group of religious researchers and sociologists. Survey results will be available later this year.
General Conference Delegate Survey
The 2008 General Conference Delegate Survey provides demographic/descriptive information on the composition of the delegate body as well as the opinions and beliefs of the delegates on the church and societal issues.
The Office of Analysis & Research conducted a survey of 10,000 congregational leaders to gather information on local church demographics, worship styles, leadership, and programs, among other topics.
