Episcopal Services

The Episcopal Services Department provides assistance to approximately 175 active and retired bishops and spouses in the five Jurisdictions (those in the US) and in the central conferences (those outside the US) and 30 surviving spouses of bishops across the global Church. The Department administers the compensation and benefits for bishops and families, in addition to all Episcopal office financial matters related to GCFA. Responsibilities include auditing and approving travel expenses and providing funding for office equipment, furnishings, and housing. The Assistant General Secretary, in consultation with the Episcopal Services Committee and the General Secretary, administers the Episcopal Fund, which supports all jurisdictional and central conference bishops.

The Episcopal Fund provides for the salary and expense of effective bishops from the date of their consecration and for the support of retired bishops, surviving spouses, and minor children of deceased bishops.
