STANDING COMMITTEE ON CENTRAL CONFERENCE MATTERS - RESOURCES
The Standing Committee on Central Conference Matters has developed a number of resources related to its work in overseeing the ministry of The United Methodist Church as it relates to the central conferences. This information includes documentation with geographical maps for Africa, Asia and Europe.
The Standing Committee received and recommended a discussion paper on the role of the bishop. The links to the articles are below. It was shared with the Council of Bishops, the committee on Faith and Order, the Study on Ministry, and the Study Committee on the Worldwide Nature of the Church. Additional information will be available soon and posted to this site.
These are the petitions that the General Council on Finance and Administration has submitted for consideration by the 2012 General Conference. They reflect changes to the Book of Discipline and the Book of Resolutions that we believe can help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our agency and the individuals and groups with which we work. ECONOMIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
The Economic Advisory Committee met during the GCFA spring meeting in March, 2012 and reaffirmed its recommendation of a $603.1 million budget to present to the General Conference later this spring. (Read more)
Below are the reports of the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) to the 2012 General Conference of The United Methodist Church. They contain the proposed funding requests for the seven general Church apportioned funds, along with information related to the administration of these funds. There are also reports on the work related to the various responsibilities assigned to GCFA by the General Conference and the Book of Discipline. SUMMARY OF APPORTIONED GENERAL FUNDS
The General Council on Finance and Administration and the Connectional Table agreed on a quadrennial budget of $603.1 million to submit to the 2012 General Conference for the seven general apportioned funds. The SUMMARY OF APPORTIONED GENERAL FUNDS table below provides a comparison summary of the allocations among the seven funds for the coming quadrennium and the current quadrennium. More detail on the activities supported by the seven funds and the allocations within some of the funds is described in the series of reports provided on this site.
It should be noted that this is the first time the proposed quadrennial budget reflects a decrease in current dollars over the previous quadrennium.
PREPARING FOR GENERAL CONFERENCE
Over the course of the past few months, staff and council members have visited delegations in the US and central conferences to discuss the development of the 2013-2016 budget to be presented to the General Conference this spring. The handout distributed to attendees and the PowerPoint presentation are accessible below. You may find this infomration helpful as delegations discuss the details of the budget.
