Records & Statistics

The Records and Statistics Department maintains information and statistics important to The United Methodist Church.

Records maintained by the department include:

• appointment and address files for churches, charges, and ordained and diaconal ministers;
• address files for a variety of annual conference administrative offices;
• permanent church numbers used as key identifiers by all of the agencies of the church and many annual conference.
  

A key service offered by the department is mailing lists and labels from the maintained records. Church officers, agencies, institutions, and United Methodist caucuses that qualify under Disciplinary restrictions and GCFA policy guidelines may request mailing lists and labels.

Statistics collected by the department include:

• church membership and worship attendance;
• church school enrollment and attendance ;
• local church property values;
• uses of local church funds.

The department has primary responsibility for the content, editing, annual publication, and distribution of the General Minutes of the Annual Conferences of The United Methodist Church.
