Shared Services Restructure
In 2013, the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) made the decision to implement a shared services model for The United Methodist Church in an effort to support the mission and ministry of the denomination. GCFA would operate as a ministry of administration for the Church through the shared services model, specifically providing services for agencies, annual conferences and affiliated groups. This would allow other entities of the Church to carry out their unique role and purpose in the mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Because of your partnership in ministry and the growth in shared services provided by GCFA departments as part of our ministry of administration, the Shared Services Department is excited to announce that we are growing!
We are excited to welcome Jehan Zarate as our new Shared Services Specialist. Jehan comes to the Shared Services Department from the Sponsorship Department where she served as the Fulfillment Coordinator. You may have seen her around the General Conference 2016 Exhibit Hall if you attended General Conference. Jehan has been with us over two years, and through that time, developed strong relationships with our corporate and General Conference sponsors. Jehan is passionate about providing excellent service and supporting the ministry of GCFA. We welcome her to the team!
Shannon Logan has been promoted to the Shared Services Manager. Shannon has served with the Shared Services Department since January 2015. Her impact has been significant in terms of elevating the level of customer service we provide and overseeing key projects such as the relaunch of UMCmarket and the growth of our IT services. Shannon has great ideas for the future of shared services and we congratulate her on this promotion.
Finally, Jodi Chadwell has been promoted to the Chief Officer of Shared Services and Ministry Evaluation. This new role reports directly to the General Secretary of GCFA, Moses Kumar. Jodi will continue to work with Shannon and Jehan regarding the strategy of Shared Services, as well as with all departments at GCFA to evaluate new and existing services. Our goal is to ensure GCFA is serving the needs of the Church as it relates to the ministry of administration.
In order to provide the best service to our partners in ministry, we have designated a “one-stop shop” point of contact in Shared Services for each annual conference. Shannon and Jehan will serve as the primary contacts for you, our partners in ministry. In the next couple weeks, you will hear from your primary Shared Services contact in order to provide you with their contact information, and to touch base to see how we can support your ministry.
