GCFA Staff Leadership

Marsha R. BaseMarsha R. Base, is the Associate General Secretary/Organizational Development for the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA). In her role, Marsha oversees the development and living out of GCFA’s vision and purpose. Her responsibilities include, as well, oversight of communications, Council relations, and human resource functions. Marsha also directs training initiatives for GCFA board members and staff designed to enhance GCFA’s ministry of administration.

Her experience includes strategic planning and organizational development consultation, including six years as executive staff for the Women’s Division of the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries in New York, serving in areas of leadership development and administration. Marsha holds a Master of Science in Administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Indiana University, South Bend.

In describing her approach to the work of GCFA, Marsha states, “Leadership involves facilitating the gifts and graces of others as together we engage in the ministry of administration. It is a community activity that is a mutual experience of professional and spiritual growth. I am blessed to be in an environment where this approach is lived out each day.
Rev. Terry BradfieldTerry Bradfield is Deputy General Secretary for Operations. Terry has oversight responsibility for financial services, records and statistics, analysis and research, and information technology. He is a clergy member of the West Virginia Annual Conference and a retired Army chaplain. Terry holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Seminary and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. In discussing his values and work culture, Terry states, "In my practice of ministry, I am driven by personal responsibility, openness, honesty, a sense of accountability to those who depend on me, and a commitment to get things done."
 
 
John GoolsbeyJohn T. Goolsbey is Deputy General Secretary for Administration. John has oversight responsibility for Episcopal services, support services, and communications and training. Holding a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, an A.M. degree in organic chemistry from Harvard University, and a M. S. I. A. degree at Carnegie-Mellon University, John brings to the Council a depth of experience in domestic and international finance and corporate planning within multi-national corporations.
