GCFA and CT Vote on 2017-2020 Quadrennial Budget
GCFA and CT To Recommend Quadrenial Budget
Nashville, TN – The Connectional Table (CT) and the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) met at a combined spring meeting in Nashville, May 19, 2015. Both bodies considered the recommendation of the Budget Leadership Team for the quadrennial budget to be presented to the General Conference. Charles E. Moore, the chairperson of the General Agency and Episcopal Matters committee of the GCFA board, acknowledged the work of the Economic Advisory Committee for their independent review of the components that comprise the budget.
The Budget Leadership team recommended a quadrennium budget of $611 million, which was approved. The work of the team was based on the guiding principles developed by CT and GCFA.
It was noted that the percentages of income to the general boards and commissions remain the same. It was also noted that the budget assumptions take into consideration the historical collection rates and the recommendations of the capacity for giving presented by the Economic Advisory Committee.
Moses Kumar, chief executive for GCFA said, “We are always thankful to those who dedicate their time to consider all the factors related to presenting a quadrennial budget for the denomination. Members of the Budget Leadership Team, the Economic Advisory Committee, CT and GCFA had a timeline and schedule of meetings and phone calls to make prayerful consideration of the budget figure that would be presented to the General Conference.”
