For many of us, the New Year is a time of evaluation, resolutions, and hope for the future. The same can be said for UMCmarket, as we are excited to continue to grow this ministry in support of your ministry. With the recent unveiling of our new and improved UMCmarket.org, United Methodist church members can shop, save, and support, all with the click of the mouse. We continue to give thanks to our United Methodist connection for their support of this ministry.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and UMCmarket will feature retailers offering savings opportunities and additional support for ministries. However, Valentine’s Day is not the only event happening on UMCmarket in February.  In a few short weeks, UMCmarket will launch its free mobile app in Android and iOS versions. The apps have been submitted to Android and Apple, and our support partner is awaiting the respective approvals. Also, the reporting console has new added features so your ministries will always know their earnings. Changes have been made to the sign-up form to enhance and simplify the user-experience.  As this is a dynamic platform, we encourage you and all of your churches and ministries to provide feedback on desired improvements and enhancements.

UMCmarket’s efforts for 2016 will continue to focus on mission and ministry, exploring opportunities to help supporters find alternative means to fund the missions of our United Methodist affiliated ministries and local churches. If you know of a United Methodist ministry not currently enabled on the platform, please contact GCFA’s Shared Services to be added to the platform. As always, there is no cost to the local church or ministry. The site is designed to specifically benefit ministries with little effort on their part.

Finally, if your churches have not been using the relaunched UMCmarket, we wish to share with you how UMCmarket is working for the local church.  Since its relaunch in July, over 7,200 members have signed up with accounts, making over 6,000 purchases.  All of that in a few short months to bring additional funds to churches to support the mission of making Disciples for Jesus Christ.

Got a story to tell?  Send us your story of how UMCmarket has benefited your ministry, as GCFA would like to feature it in an upcoming The Ministry Minute.
