Often churches struggle with identifying and matching volunteers with ministry opportunities and creative ways of encouraging giving.  When asking church members to volunteer their time, contribute money, or take part in outreach programs, it is helpful to understand where their interests lie in order to pair them with opportunities they find meaningful. Recently, Vanco Payment Solutions surveyed more than 1,000 churchgoers about giving, their online habits, and their interests outside of church.
Their responses provided great insights into the activities that churchgoers participate in and where they most often visit online. For example, 85% of participants surveyed regularly check personal email, while 60% use Facebook. Together, these survey results create a roadmap for building and promoting successful programs that will energize your members and serve your community. Click here to read the full article.
To help empower generosity and volunteer programs in your church, consider surveying your members and the ways in which the results could increase giving of personal and financial support. Asking your members about their technology, communication and giving preferences can help you build ministries around their interests and provide guidance on how to promote specific generosity initiatives. Vanco Payment Solutions and the General Council on Finance and Administration are enabling churches and their members to faithfully support their mission and ministry through the Empowering Generosity program. This program is part of our ongoing dedication to helping churches manage and grow giving.
