GCFA’s ministry partner The Home Depot allows local churches – through their Pro Extra Loyalty Program - to aid Connectional ministries with every purchase made by their church, whether it is sprucing up a paint job or something more complex. Not only do churches get 20% off paints, stains, and primers, The Home Depot regularly gives back dollars; for example, in 2017 The Home Depot worked with churches in the Houston area offering discounts on much-needed supplies for flood-damaged rebuilding.

Even if you have not been in the path of a tornado or hurricane, or been flooded with rivers overflowing their banks, you can help through the Home Depot Pro Xtra Loyalty Rebate Program. After joining, every purchase your church or affiliated ministry makes will earn a rebate, which is then given to various United Methodist ministries like UMCOR.

Examples of help granted by UMCOR:

• $10,000 solidarity grant to the Arkansas Conference, West Ohio Conference, Oklahoma Conference, and the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference to assist with initial and immediate relief efforts
• Ongoing assessments and support in the Iowa, Dakotas, Great Plains, Wisconsin, and Mountain Sky conferences.
• Solidarity grants were awarded, Emergency Response Teams and relief supply distribution were deployed, case management is underway, and assessments for recovery efforts are ongoing in states such as Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida
