GCFA can manage Domain Name Server (DNS) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates.

DNS is used to convert IP addresses into readable domains such as YourMinistryName.org. Without DNS, everyone would have to remember random strings of number to access different websites.

An SSL certificate is a digital document that ensures the content provided (usually through email) is from the correct verified sender.  It keeps sensitive information sent across the internet encrypted so that only the intended recipient can read it. This process is essential because the information you send on the internet is passed from computer to computer to get to the destination server. Any computer in between you and the server can see your credit card numbers, usernames and passwords, and other sensitive information if it is not encrypted with an SSL certificate. When an SSL certificate is used, the information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server you are sending the information. The certificate protects it from hackers and identity thieves.
