Financial Assessment

Financial Data Charts

Each engagement begins with gaining a clear understanding of the Annual Conference’s financial operations, leadership priorities, staffing, technology, reporting practices and financial strengths and challenges. Through conversations with key personnel and a review of existing processes and financial reports, GCFA identifies organizational strengths, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.

The assessment may review the following:

  • Financial positions including income, spending and net assets

  • Financial policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Staff responsibilities and workflow

  • Accounting systems and related technology

  • Budget development and monitoring

  • Cash flow and financial reporting

  • Payroll and expense-management practices

  • Audit preparation and follow-up

  • The timeliness and usefulness of information provided to conference leaders
