GCFA LAUNCHES "DATA-DRIVEN DISCERNMENT" CAMPAIGN TO EDUCATE DELEGATES AND MEMBERS ON FINANCIAL AND LEGAL ISSUES AHEAD OF GENERAL CONFERENCE

Nashville, Tennessee – The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) is excited to announce the launch of a new campaign, "Data-Driven Discernment: Charting Hope at General Conference." To ensure that delegates and members are well-informed and equipped to make informed decisions, the "Data-Driven Discernment" campaign aims to foster financial stewardship, create awareness of legal implications, and emphasize data-backed decision making by members of The United Methodist Church in preparation for the upcoming General Conference.

The first educational video, “Strengthening the Episcopal Fund,” is being released today and is accompanied by current financial reporting and economic modeling. GCFA plans to release a number of videos and resources focusing on the budget process, understanding disaffiliation, financial implications of proposed legislation, and more.

“"We believe that informed delegates and members are essential for the health and vitality of our denomination," said Rev. Moses Kumar, General Secretary of GCFA. "Through the 'Data-Driven Discernment' campaign, we aim to empower our community with knowledge, fostering a more informed and engaged decision-making process.”
